He gave Chelsea clean changes (something we've really been working on) and was a very good boy except for one fence (all the larges had problems with a very up-right fence that was hard to ride to for the bigger ponies). I replied "Sinsational" and he looked and me and said with a name like that, she better be damn good. The judge must have thought she was Sinsational, because she won the class out of 10 very, very nice entries!! There were some pretty fabulous foals in there and I'm beyond thrilled we were handed the blue!<br /><br />Silvation also showed, but has had a rough few months. He was gelded in mid-April and ended up loosing a lot of weight. We skipped Devon with the hopes he would be ready for Upperville, but he just wasn't quite ready. After getting his permanent card at 14.1 1/2 without shoes (much to my relief), we waited for hours for his classes to go. Normally, I don't mind the wait at shows, but I was diagnosed with pneumonia the day prior and felt like someone had kicked me in the ribs. Luckily, <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Deno</span> needed very little prep and walked into the ring without even a warm-up trip. The first trip, he earned a fourth out of 7, the second trip he pulled a 3rd, and the third trip he got a 5<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">th</span>. By the hack class, he was done and Chelsea could hardly get him to move forward. All in all, I was pleased as punch. I bred <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Deno</span>. His dam was my Large Pony Hunter and I stood his sire at stud for seven years. It's neat watching a pony you've bred do well at an "A" show. <a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxICMgptR2-wO4IJymeBpHEWQAQm6kehHOg6TD2_uA216bF357jEqw2zpnaV7ULDCXpNiazEwOHJgQ9-F1TORDOI4UbaQiiL7PjLSZ3eE5Gmk2DYIiaqXrpUHst5wmjzzKHm55bergljA/s1600-h/DenoJumpStraightDecemberClassic08.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277013373632753362" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 312px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 299px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjxICMgptR2-wO4IJymeBpHEWQAQm6kehHOg6TD2_uA216bF357jEqw2zpnaV7ULDCXpNiazEwOHJgQ9-F1TORDOI4UbaQiiL7PjLSZ3eE5Gmk2DYIiaqXrpUHst5wmjzzKHm55bergljA/s320/DenoJumpStraightDecemberClassic08.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLmDjo6Cw3Fcp-BWI05PTZGv3u3-IPH3n0Te4uyN1r2dPuS-ybdB9ElP4M_i7cz9Z3ZaYTGMYg8Zcb__9UJaRrLHFRdS3DULPKvtGMcQofOoIqwORnyyDms7gI0v566Bdc67JxEXv7exc/s1600-h/DenoJumpLeftDecemberClassic08.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277013240362059826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 313px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 283px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgLmDjo6Cw3Fcp-BWI05PTZGv3u3-IPH3n0Te4uyN1r2dPuS-ybdB9ElP4M_i7cz9Z3ZaYTGMYg8Zcb__9UJaRrLHFRdS3DULPKvtGMcQofOoIqwORnyyDms7gI0v566Bdc67JxEXv7exc/s320/DenoJumpLeftDecemberClassic08.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjflFKPZwBp8oBI4mZ4A3-AuyB2QC6zow4gVPKzCfMU5ICRxcXwD7DR9TGHQkoOv_fyGxUXnAJRvPJvrsjkZrw7XtnBYSLrPOJaLgfIIY4ieIYYN4llc5PuzQmTtrBjkf1yWYELE7XJqls/s1600-h/DenoDecemberClassic08.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5277013136896243714" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 239px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjflFKPZwBp8oBI4mZ4A3-AuyB2QC6zow4gVPKzCfMU5ICRxcXwD7DR9TGHQkoOv_fyGxUXnAJRvPJvrsjkZrw7XtnBYSLrPOJaLgfIIY4ieIYYN4llc5PuzQmTtrBjkf1yWYELE7XJqls/s320/DenoDecemberClassic08.jpg" border="0" /></a> </div><div>Sorry for the bad pictures. After driving down in the rain Thursday, we arrived in one piece. The horses were glad to get off the trailers and we began setting up the seven stalls. We schooled the horses for a bit and even the green beans were on their best behavior. I was so worried about how the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">OTTB</span> and neon green pony would act, but they could not have been any better.<br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270937117976731298" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 286px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX4oLLpxa_upp3GVjVoTziroAhLezPjuES_MR6lNX0na25MI3Z5AGDuyJ7L2JwzWniJTAc9OW3bdGqbmqHj7qT_ZMgepKZ9AAGQptvXyV82nmgWC0LGW-IJhiUhzF2_-WKgpwaqAiy2r8/s320/Lexington2008.jpg" border="0" /><br />This year, we purchased stall drapes that made the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">tackroom</span> look beautiful and provided a perfect dressing room. That should be one fancy baby!!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvZ-3ANXemukX4_8PyN-9fE3n0xCNpuNen6BJeWkjsnRyGW0vHOMZBcFk5sk96i_Gi1XHQsulbrrk9NPgoNujriicsiHz431-Dxe7AJtvhyphenhyphenwvQT9TrlffDZ3Bv6iGvoQTC8C6_lXzUww0/s1600-h/DenoTrotLeftLexington2008.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270936108512437282" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 214px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhvZ-3ANXemukX4_8PyN-9fE3n0xCNpuNen6BJeWkjsnRyGW0vHOMZBcFk5sk96i_Gi1XHQsulbrrk9NPgoNujriicsiHz431-Dxe7AJtvhyphenhyphenwvQT9TrlffDZ3Bv6iGvoQTC8C6_lXzUww0/s320/DenoTrotLeftLexington2008.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9RDJUqoaNLVCiGPU7spplHUILhHeejZOZNNJMN7QLkYknX0QvuCSLdE-OLxc-no8L8BiQ-wpjOXCCWIvu6IRaQGcbK93dsgM82y2NQNrqyVmrHTIuwJZQlUdCYd0lKeA0Mae7HRul5ek/s1600-h/DenoChelseaPleasure2008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270935945169318594" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 218px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh9RDJUqoaNLVCiGPU7spplHUILhHeejZOZNNJMN7QLkYknX0QvuCSLdE-OLxc-no8L8BiQ-wpjOXCCWIvu6IRaQGcbK93dsgM82y2NQNrqyVmrHTIuwJZQlUdCYd0lKeA0Mae7HRul5ek/s320/DenoChelseaPleasure2008.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6MFSFx_Y7HsNJLjbIduLzOOUCC_wkRp3GhhCdKpPWWZRAIrGQpA8w4iMPgQwiuwgRzZ4eK0c47UkD0TV_MKcCMus1HJMoqL6XbI342J1tqf6DTDnMVBkoNGECJxznr40clxDUPhO0cww/s1600-h/DenoSecondPlaceHackLexington2008.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270935764126165890" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 309px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh6MFSFx_Y7HsNJLjbIduLzOOUCC_wkRp3GhhCdKpPWWZRAIrGQpA8w4iMPgQwiuwgRzZ4eK0c47UkD0TV_MKcCMus1HJMoqL6XbI342J1tqf6DTDnMVBkoNGECJxznr40clxDUPhO0cww/s320/DenoSecondPlaceHackLexington2008.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh55fFeYP-Ipvyzdn-U_J-YpMYR9C9bvaJK51EvZ0A-nYKqYjLeoZNzpSb6lHJu1P6XJDm7DxTb15Zg1gt6aoC-xxtpGj1dJmV9sGStB89JuQYC7WdKwwA64EF4evK5b58A5Zj0dEwJX8A/s1600-h/DenoLexington2008EqJumpLeft.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270935595764944930" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 259px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh55fFeYP-Ipvyzdn-U_J-YpMYR9C9bvaJK51EvZ0A-nYKqYjLeoZNzpSb6lHJu1P6XJDm7DxTb15Zg1gt6aoC-xxtpGj1dJmV9sGStB89JuQYC7WdKwwA64EF4evK5b58A5Zj0dEwJX8A/s320/DenoLexington2008EqJumpLeft.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL2q0z0UHmkiTK2lPmdR4HoNQdKwowq6fTX2m57FMAjbUEgojjXVvJUYiyqGcURGa96O8L0p6NHS0zXYkfqeH-O3_YcvidhagYX9xZPUi0BKv-309yne1LdXuQDBBQhZMIKGCoQg68QaM/s1600-h/DenoLexington2008Eq.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5270935425421753826" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 213px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjL2q0z0UHmkiTK2lPmdR4HoNQdKwowq6fTX2m57FMAjbUEgojjXVvJUYiyqGcURGa96O8L0p6NHS0zXYkfqeH-O3_YcvidhagYX9xZPUi0BKv-309yne1LdXuQDBBQhZMIKGCoQg68QaM/s320/DenoLexington2008Eq.jpg" border="0" /></a><br />Chelsea also showed <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">IBA</span> Blue Diamond in the Large Pony Hunters and Pony Pleasure. <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">Deno</span> took home ribbons in both divisions, including a 2<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">nd</span> place in the Large Pony Hack. I saddled up my mare Silver Masterpiece and went in the ring to have a great time. Everyone was laughing at me, because I was singing to the music during the classes. Maggie and I didn't go out there to win anything, we just wanted to have some fun. I guess the judge didn't mind, because she gave us a 7<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_10">th</span> and 8<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_11">th</span> place ribbons!<br /><br />Needless to say, we can't wait to get back next year. There were some very nice horses and ponies there this year and it was nice to see we were in the ribbons right along with them. These next few weeks are going to be spent going on trail rides and maybe do a little cross country jumping. Heck, I wouldn't mind going Hunting a time or two just to give the horses some "fun" time. They were so good, they deserve some time out of the ring.<br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div></div>LockeMeadowshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01286218988878916013noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6361341404096529464.post-88948010956005160582008-11-12T19:56:00.000-08:002008-11-12T20:22:08.577-08:00Red Gate Farm Awards Banquet - November 12, 2008Tonight was the Red Gate Farm Awards Banquet in Hamilton, Virginia. With the Finals a week away, I'm a little nervous, but more excited. All of our riders are practicing to ensure good trips and I must say, I've been <strong>truly </strong>impressed with the team.<br /><br /><div><div><div>Dawn H. has been doing everything she can so her and her horse are prepped for the Finals. Exactly one year ago, Dawn and Maggie were just starting to jump 2'6". This week, they moved up to 3'6" and did it with style and grace. I always like to school at least 3" above what we show at. This next week will be Maggie and Dawn's first time showing at a real 3', so we're making sure they are ready. Those jumps in Lexington should be a breeze compared to what they're doing at home.<br /><br /></div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265672363335887986" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 319px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiFVpHALKIFUdOm77bd1Sfksbt6DZR9lkKewejWeSXsIlCOT5r3o-PLgSRK31IjZpSUNqnY_THk_cQxW52oNNPUy_MbSJeCbUDXG6R9ZQm4fek4AVNdBqYOPBEeZPEe6P7pzij8XN9b40/s320/dawnmaggienov6th3ft6jpg.jpg" border="0" /></div><div><br /></div><div><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265671977771506738" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 245px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgsrL0lqYJx4a1r2Zc7lCoumUT2PrmRNczcyPGszq2ORQgibOOn9oqD1CtgLkqvwkRWMniNJh1co0kHMmFae50DV0o5XmUegNaGIIYLaKvBjU5yH0Ky9sz5MJ3heG05_F6H_vIyBnckqdc/s320/MaggieDawn3ft3inch.JPG" border="0" /><br /><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5265671697202734274" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 320px; CURSOR: hand; HEIGHT: 199px; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiKMtbL2r7RtswE_nMtOHEVafTrP8u_5t1-8GrOM-EunWE7rxpVL4EJ4DtmKoECIgvD8Ou0MTxMRrUMD8A3jDXA8nX9TMZk2l0NTbaHcTt4IY8R837S6lq9HQyxLfzaQIqy2q-5xP88ncw/s320/DawnMaggieNov6th3ftCoop.JPG" border="0" /></div></div>LockeMeadowshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01286218988878916013noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6361341404096529464.post-20800968072100410212008-10-25T20:33:00.000-07:002008-10-25T20:51:18.085-07:00Locke Meadows Horse Show Series - October 18, 2008The Locke Meadows Team did well on their home turf today. The team came together and rode their hearts out against some of the toughest competition they've showed against all year. Their hard work was rewarded.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghc-xZSOZiELry-d6FMjeHI23MkmVlhHJoZHfziC_SZlmvPkgYaPkBXsxdzbiDGrRmQOyjCSI-UABLWLBaGkVsPnxcHPUxLLyCfnaef5AuGJ7aiuF93mJhgGJ4WqeiFHM30M3a-9U0rA8/s1600-h/MaggieFlatOct5th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253851892563262994" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghc-xZSOZiELry-d6FMjeHI23MkmVlhHJoZHfziC_SZlmvPkgYaPkBXsxdzbiDGrRmQOyjCSI-UABLWLBaGkVsPnxcHPUxLLyCfnaef5AuGJ7aiuF93mJhgGJ4WqeiFHM30M3a-9U0rA8/s320/MaggieFlatOct5th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzmj0RhyKLiRLZOvDTmTH3D-bQJ8jbMPl9uItSLwtAZrIc83i_TDu4e1UVI8gdEayqbD-2xdRkTbVu3kZagwUam38DNuH_hyphenhyphenrVW22IxAKGI-JDdgSCRZFjsvWaBevCBb9mdwcErl5ZGM4/s1600-h/DawnMaggieOct5th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253851790121737954" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhzmj0RhyKLiRLZOvDTmTH3D-bQJ8jbMPl9uItSLwtAZrIc83i_TDu4e1UVI8gdEayqbD-2xdRkTbVu3kZagwUam38DNuH_hyphenhyphenrVW22IxAKGI-JDdgSCRZFjsvWaBevCBb9mdwcErl5ZGM4/s320/DawnMaggieOct5th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />I had to put two pictures of Dawn and Silver Masterpiece up. This was the best day these two have ever had. Dawn started off the day with a second place in Adult Equitation out of six entries. She then flatted in the Green Hunter Horse and walked away with the blue ribbon in the hack class out of eight entries (against some really, really nice horses)!! She ended up Reserve Champion against the pros, which blows my mind since Dawn has only been riding a little over a year. Dawn and Maggie also did the Working Hunters at 3' (this was only their second time showing at 3') and jumped around without scaring anyone and earned a 3rd out of 7 in that hack class.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivt7rwEKmxqVjpt-Xe8ZogswQaXZg6VFTT9zUvrbUTymtP4x13DYRpihOfcqkOkE1WrNUT_iuVOhaF3ETLW6kfhi1Pi1cIa5WQ8c4c6tTIqPaGZqGUltOUgNHKyni7LiNKcWaFRrXUdyc/s1600-h/StephanieSophieWorkingOct5th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253851674562117010" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEivt7rwEKmxqVjpt-Xe8ZogswQaXZg6VFTT9zUvrbUTymtP4x13DYRpihOfcqkOkE1WrNUT_iuVOhaF3ETLW6kfhi1Pi1cIa5WQ8c4c6tTIqPaGZqGUltOUgNHKyni7LiNKcWaFRrXUdyc/s320/StephanieSophieWorkingOct5th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />We had to talk Stephanie T. into hanging around for the Working Hunters, as she she has not jumped 3' in ages. Her and Sophie put in two beautiful rounds and ended up in the top ribbons. They jump better at 3' than they do 2'6". Stephanie also won the Adult Equitation class and was 2<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">nd</span> and 3rd in Adult Amateur Hunter Over Fences. She won back more than half of her entry fees in prize money. Way to go <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Steph</span>!<br /><br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWrvTmie5L_I-j1a0TmZbQ-WUH6d8x585Zgq-i4HFdgkcxA7g6L-py4D3LT1_k6a_ggXYyssuTtGINDhQ-xpzwAy7NeahKa0eh_O_ek1KeY1h37rDGeTRnhbX7OsoOXel4Wz46st9zun8/s1600-h/KaitlynDaisyElmingtonOct5th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253851543380570242" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhWrvTmie5L_I-j1a0TmZbQ-WUH6d8x585Zgq-i4HFdgkcxA7g6L-py4D3LT1_k6a_ggXYyssuTtGINDhQ-xpzwAy7NeahKa0eh_O_ek1KeY1h37rDGeTRnhbX7OsoOXel4Wz46st9zun8/s320/KaitlynDaisyElmingtonOct5th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Kaitlyn and Daisy were great today. Daisy jumped around without a warm-up and only had one minor bobble. This pony is really learning her job and you can tell the hard work Kaitlyn has put into her. Daisy was 6<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">th</span> out of 14 entries in the Low Hunter Hack. When they called her number, I almost melted. There were some NICE horses out there with pros riding and here is Kaitlyn riding right along with them.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_i94dPitKAq7L3FK_8YzIfrtxG4OeYKhSFtMATI_E9x8AgiZU69-3Sf5Ock7skKQhz69sWehtd14dKs5GILUqtLoB93EeKDSfA7hhxdwULslPwah-quMvFXtXm_S02zDC4WyJrfbJG7c/s1600-h/ChelseaRosieEqElmingtonOct5th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253851399556520898" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi_i94dPitKAq7L3FK_8YzIfrtxG4OeYKhSFtMATI_E9x8AgiZU69-3Sf5Ock7skKQhz69sWehtd14dKs5GILUqtLoB93EeKDSfA7hhxdwULslPwah-quMvFXtXm_S02zDC4WyJrfbJG7c/s320/ChelseaRosieEqElmingtonOct5th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Miss Chelsea came for one class today; Pony Equitation. Right now, Chelsea is Number 1 with the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">VHSA</span> Associate Program in Pony Equitation and she wants to keep it that way. Of course, she was at the top out of 8 entries. People often ask if Chelsea ever makes a mistake. If she does, I'm still waiting to see it!<br /><br />Needless to say, this was one of the best weekends the team has ever had. The horses we showed against today were tough, which I was thankful for. The <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">VHSA</span> Championships are just a few weeks away and its nice to see some good competition at the end of the year.<br /><br /><br /><br /><div></div></div></div></div></div>LockeMeadowshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01286218988878916013noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6361341404096529464.post-58519906479160741992008-10-05T17:35:00.001-07:002008-10-05T17:52:52.739-07:00Oak Hill Thoroughbreds - October 4, 2008We were thrilled to have Larry our team photographer back this weekend. He always takes the best pictures! That was a good thing too because the team did very well!<br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrIEELF1nOTAv1PZk0AnKiAmK89hlWhttm8WzLaSOreLtPVBAuHWILYbrTZY_wLXK0ik-9JsOYhHMGGIEF0Q-cyzKGVNB_W56oPzrFXGZfdufOmhbe1kruqxXjP41t2201IvNTP7Az7sU/s1600-h/StephanieSophieOakHillOct4th08.JPG"><br /><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253834018705892034" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjrIEELF1nOTAv1PZk0AnKiAmK89hlWhttm8WzLaSOreLtPVBAuHWILYbrTZY_wLXK0ik-9JsOYhHMGGIEF0Q-cyzKGVNB_W56oPzrFXGZfdufOmhbe1kruqxXjP41t2201IvNTP7Az7sU/s320/StephanieSophieOakHillOct4th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Stephanie T. came out with guns a blazing for the Adult Equitation class. She hit every spot and the flat phase was right up her alley; lots of sitting trot, a hand-gallop, and a change of direction with a flying lead change. Needless to say, she took home the blue ribbon and rightly so! We also had a surprise in the Adult Amateur hack class - Sophie won! At 21 years old, Sophie no longer moves like "the hack winner" like she used to. However, today she went like a million bucks and the judge rewarded her for it.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-KU-RmOKKxmonIL54d1ZcPn0Cwc48IZj4Tjp4oWRJrQ7rgIMuKqmcx3DMQdUlmcSkpkknLfM3te2q-MBymrk8pihyxyk8uhopjfjxQFT58nmaLZy6hLQx7wLNcZFtQ6g87-qIR0QX8Y/s1600-h/DawnEqOakHillOct4th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253833826735706610" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhw-KU-RmOKKxmonIL54d1ZcPn0Cwc48IZj4Tjp4oWRJrQ7rgIMuKqmcx3DMQdUlmcSkpkknLfM3te2q-MBymrk8pihyxyk8uhopjfjxQFT58nmaLZy6hLQx7wLNcZFtQ6g87-qIR0QX8Y/s320/DawnEqOakHillOct4th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />At every show, I have people coming up to me saying how much Dawn H. and Silver Masterpiece keep impoving. They were second today in the Adult Equitation class and Dawn's flat work was picture perfect. That was the only class they showed in, so we were very happy with the placing.<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizp5mE5jAMrZuCbhj8ZbNLaAvJ0P43xbHTR9VJjOv9fEbmopxz2-fEhSmHUcX29Hg-hw0wTX6z9uwt-tUDB4Vm1hPGIGDbmedbUIHSXI9MhzhDrGDWgBt2wNasOgAIrZK3EsrbwExzV8M/s1600-h/KaitlynDaisyOakHillOct4th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253833650987745938" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEizp5mE5jAMrZuCbhj8ZbNLaAvJ0P43xbHTR9VJjOv9fEbmopxz2-fEhSmHUcX29Hg-hw0wTX6z9uwt-tUDB4Vm1hPGIGDbmedbUIHSXI9MhzhDrGDWgBt2wNasOgAIrZK3EsrbwExzV8M/s320/KaitlynDaisyOakHillOct4th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Kaitlyn H. and Daisy had an excellent show. Kaitlyn won the Pony Equitation class and the judge loved Kaitlyn's flat. She also did great in Pony Pleasure with Miss Daisy. If you've been reading our blog, then you know this pony has been under saddle less than a year and that Kaitlyn has only been riding since March of 2007. It is amazing how far these two have come in such a short amount of time!<br /><br /><div><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqyxncrElIdNJhdc0mOkCmf4eis68G6GIjKNdwM5G57jKSgOSmpG2SwiSsDpWLE7VXEsvS1SwI5wk8IMz_6sEys0jd21IMgvNjuaGCz32zd4PoWO6MrNcULEOaMdYBDXxce-wwhfpjkwo/s1600-h/ChelseaRosieOakHillOct4th08.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5253833376882800754" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjqyxncrElIdNJhdc0mOkCmf4eis68G6GIjKNdwM5G57jKSgOSmpG2SwiSsDpWLE7VXEsvS1SwI5wk8IMz_6sEys0jd21IMgvNjuaGCz32zd4PoWO6MrNcULEOaMdYBDXxce-wwhfpjkwo/s320/ChelseaRosieOakHillOct4th08.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Chelsea H. and Callihan Rose again won everything under the sun. On the way to the show, our 2yo slid under the divider in the trailer and ended up in the stall with the mare and colt. I felt the commotion in the trailer and we had to unload the horses along a busy road to get everyone back where they were supposed to be. The filly ended up kicking the weanling, but the injuries looked minor. Upon our arrival at the show grounds, we found the colt had cuts and <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">abrasions</span> from his nose to his toes. We let him show since he was sound and no worse for wear. Well, he ended up pulling a 3rd place against some very, very nice <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">weanlings</span>. Even with the cuts, he still looked like a million bucks!<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid-MkXGLN5ukPO1E4hj7sSQ9oIWOXZibTT6D1aGvXLNwoe0OI8llCVTnKGnjiffZEmXoa4ubQym1yoSFzIDHElVP_0yeIG9grJpdC1fqAxz2KuI1Rcf6OLk281iCDMpwJm7VLcGHmRiyI/s1600-h/SilvationChip.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5243101389375077330" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEid-MkXGLN5ukPO1E4hj7sSQ9oIWOXZibTT6D1aGvXLNwoe0OI8llCVTnKGnjiffZEmXoa4ubQym1yoSFzIDHElVP_0yeIG9grJpdC1fqAxz2KuI1Rcf6OLk281iCDMpwJm7VLcGHmRiyI/s320/SilvationChip.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Unfortunately, Private Diamonds, the 2yo, had to be scratched as her cuts were more severe and we did not feel it was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">appropriate</span> to present her under a judge. We usually do OK, but today, the team pulled together and showed what they were made of. Right now, I'm <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">speechless</span> (which doesn't happen to me very often!).<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcqLKWlrDG-FFLUJEy9m3m2cQD7QM2f2daz109VwM2ppLDYlX2krStQL6uVbyuwHqGW2sNDQqr7BGVivE9p9rb-vhaR9ksR-a5K0C0AZtWxpEcJUxfvPbW7sovSOJ8eMCTaqpRgN_QJHY/s1600-h/LarryDedeFrederickHorseShowTrotR.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5237904243490185314" style="DISPLAY: block; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; CURSOR: hand; TEXT-ALIGN: center" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgcqLKWlrDG-FFLUJEy9m3m2cQD7QM2f2daz109VwM2ppLDYlX2krStQL6uVbyuwHqGW2sNDQqr7BGVivE9p9rb-vhaR9ksR-a5K0C0AZtWxpEcJUxfvPbW7sovSOJ8eMCTaqpRgN_QJHY/s320/LarryDedeFrederickHorseShowTrotR.JPG" border="0" /></a><br />Larry H. got the team going by pulling a second out of four in Showmanship and then winning the Hunter Model class with his lovely lady Private Diamonds. This was their first show doing "real" strides instead of adds. Maggie hit every spot, had perfect lead changes, and went around like a real hunter. It was the trip of a life-time for this pair.<br /><br />I must say I am so proud of every rider on our team and their horses. They came together this weekend and showed what they were made of. Ribbons are always fun to win, but seeing the improvement from week to week is worth more than all the Championships in the world.
