Locke Meadows Horse Show Series - July 19th, 2008

The Locke Meadows Show Team showed on their home turf July19th with great results. Miss Rachael was kind enough to allow the team to show without jackets for the first time in her career as a trainer. The team was showing in 96 degree heat and she thought it best keep all her riders and horses happy and healthy.


Larry H. showed Private Diamonds, his 2yo Swedish Warmblood filly to a 2nd place finish out of 8 entries in the in-hand class. This was Larry and Dede's first show since their excellent finish at the Upperville Colt and Horse Show this past June.


Kaitlyn H. and her pony Dare To Dream were Champions in the Low Hunters out of 6 entries; winning both trips over fences! Way to go kiddo! This pony was started under saddle in November of 2007 and Kaitlyn has done all of the work herself. That is quite an accomplishment for a child who just turned 12 years old this past Sunday!


Stephanie T. and Sophisticated Lady had a great time in the Adult Amateur Hunters and Equitation. They were Reserve Champion of their division out of five entries.


Dawn H. and Silver Masterpiece had the show of a lifetime. They won their hack classes and earned top ribbons over fences! These two keep getting better with every show!

Connie U. and her mare Freedom pulled top ribbons in the Green Hunter division. This is Connie and Freedom's first year showing!

Chelsea H. and Callihan Rose put in beautiful trip after beautiful trip. Chelsea also won the Pony Equitation Over Fences.

The surprise of the show came from IBA Blue Diamond, Chelsea's other ride. He put in the trips of a life-time, complete with lead changes. One year ago, he was just being started over fences!

Mustang Dolly and Caitlin Miller keep improving with each show. Dolly is a BLM mustang, but really wants to be a show pony. She jumps around anything you put in front of her and is fearless. With more work, this is going to be a very nice show pony.

Sandstone Short Circuit Show - July 13th

The show team had a great day at Sandstone. Chelsea H. was 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in Pony Pleasure on her medium pony Callihan Rose, plus was Champion in the Pony Hunters, and then won the Equitation Over Fences class. Chelsea also did very well on IBA Blue Diamond (pictured above). "Deno" won the hack in the Pony Hunter division and was Reserve Champion in the VPBA division.

Dawn H. and Silver Masterpiece also had a fantastic day. "Maggie" was 5th out of 11 horses under saddle in the Green Hunter Division. Dawn and Maggie turned around and put in two beautiful trips earning two fourth place ribbons over fences, again, out of 11 entries. For a horse and rider in their first year of showing, they are truly amazing!

Unfortunately, Eryn D. and Stephanie T. did not have a chance to jump before the rain began. There is always next weekend.

Red Gate Farm - July 6, 2008

This was Locke Meadows first time showing at Red Gate Farm and we had so much fun. It is a great show series and ended up having a wonderful time.



Stephanie T. and Sophisticated Lady were Champions in the Adult Amateur Hunters. They put in two beautiful trips and were rewarded with top ribbons!


Kaitlyn H. jumped her pony Dare To Dream around for the first time at a show. Daisy jumped everything and missed winning Champion by one point out of four entries.

Dawn H. and Silver Masterpiece had a wonderful day and Dawn was second in Adult Equitation out of seven entries!

Chelsea H. started off the day with a bang. After a clean sweep out of six ponies in Pony Pleasure, she won the Equitation over fences class, and was Champion in the Medium Pony Hunters.

All in all, it was a great day for our show team!
